Thanks to its multi-frequency (BBS) technology, this detector is completely insensitive to interference caused by salt water or highly mineralised soil, but at the same time very sensitive to the smallest non-ferrous objects.
The Excalibur 2 features fluorescent colours that make it more pleasant to use underwater. There are 5 rotary knobs or the ‘control tube’; a button to choose between metal selection (disc) or pinpoint. An on/off button combined with ‘Threshold’ to adjust the base tone in pinpoint mode. A volume control, a sensitivity control knob and a button to set the degree of metal selection (Discriminate). The sensitivity can be set either manually or automatically.
